Insoluble in benzene, chlorobenzene, and heptane. The hydrolysis rate in water is very slow. It is a mild fluorinating agent that greatly increases its effectiveness when used together with chlorine, bromine, or antimony pentachloride as a fluorinating agent. Dissolve antimony trioxide in excess anhydrous hydrofluoric acid or hydrofluoric acid with a concentration of 55% or more, and then evaporate to dryness. Used for preparing antimony pentafluoride, composite metal fluoride, etc.
